Man, I’ve eaten so few of these. In my defense, the creators of this list made an obvious effort to include vegetarian faire, seafood and cocktails, none of which are my usual choices. And even though I’ve been in Atlanta for fourteen years, some of these restaurants have only been here for a couple.

Also, I’m an unhip suburbanite.

This is an interesting list. SPOILER: The last-ranked job is Newspaper Journalist, which makes sense, since those are going the way of the dodo. But some of their listings make very little sense. For example, why does “senior corporate executive” rank near the bottom? They obviously don’t know any of the rich execs in my company. And they list a bunch of creative pursuits like “actor”, “photographer”, etc. near the bottom. Sure, only the top 2% of workers in those fields reach a high level of fame and income. But most people I know who pay their bills through creative pursuits would argue that they have the best jobs on Earth, not the worst.

And any list of best/worst jobs that only counts 200 titles is going to be woefully incomplete. Not only could I not find my job (web editor) which is a very typical position in 2013, but I couldn’t find any of my teammates’ jobs, either. My whole industry failed to make the list.

Up gets an honorary mention because the first fifteen minutes are the most heartstrung fifteen minutes of film I’ve ever seen. It just becomes more of an adventure than a romance after that (even if the lead character’s motivations are still tied to his late wife’s memory).
